Shoes

It's January 31st and my photography challenge did not go quite as planned. I realize though, that I take much more pride in my photos when I carefully choose what I want to capture or plan an outing with the intent of photographing. There wasn't quite as much enjoyment when I knew I had to take a photo every single day for the sake of the challenge. Nonetheless, here's a rather boring :) photo of my new shoes. hehe

M.I.A

Last week quickly flew by uneventful and pretty mundane: work, eat, sleep, work, eat, sleep. While the weekend was spent recovering, watching some movies, and cooking yummy food. This past Sunday as I was cooking, I watched the documentary A State of Mind, which portrayed a rare look into the communist society and daily lives of North Korean families. Very interesting and worth watching if you're ever searching on Netflix.

Healthy Eating

I found this recipe video on the blog, Daily Garnish, and while I have yet to make it myself, it sure does look both delicious and nutritious enough to share!

Bicycle Portraits

I just stumbled upon this awesome project by two South Africans who will be creating a photographic book of fellow South Africans who use bicycling as their main form of transportation. Through their photos and stories, they hope to promote bicycling as a form of independence for all. I think it's a great project and I can't wait to own the book when it's out!

22/31: Embarcadero and a Farmers Market

I know, I know. Life got a little busy and I wasn't able to snap a photo every day. Luckily, it's the weekend and this Saturday was spent at the Embarcadero, enjoying the sunshine and picking out some goodies at the Farmers Market. Our result was a delicious dinner of lemon chicken w/ capers, mashed potatoes, and this kale salad. Success!

16/31: Sunny days in the Mission

I'm hoping this and the last post make up for the fact that I did not take photos for 3 days. Life got in the way, but this Sunday afternoon was quite lovely exploring and snapping photos in the mission. I credit Mr. Jackson for some of the following photos.

12/31: Laura is back!

Today I had brunch with my roomie Laura. She's back from her trip to Taiwan (her old home). Very jet-lagged but happy to be in "America," as she said. We were discussing how American's call it the "U.S" but anyone who is not American knows it as America. We had brunch at Velo Rouge and the table right next to us had a cute pup that kept coming over looking for food. I know Laura is not going to be happy about the second photo since I caught her as she was eating...hehe :)
