"Don't call my name, don't call my name, Alejandrooo..."

Sushi, beer, meeting random people and sillynessss is what happens when Zoe and I get together. Someone told us we should have our own TV Show: Zoe and Angelica. Yes yes we should!

Oh Africa..

My time in South Africa is coming to a close and I'm very sad but also grateful and happy to have had this enriching experience. Cape Town has been a place where I've grown and learned so much. Had I traveled to South Africa instead of volunteered-I know it would have not got me as close to the people and culture. And so today was my last day at work and i teared up a little as I said good bye to all the kids. They didn't really know that I was leaving for good but I'm sure the teachers told them once I left. The kids I met are so full of life and laughter and so willing to give love and to forgive. I can only hope that they have a future filled with great possibilities and with love. I'm going to miss them....

p.s. i still have some pictures and videos left to share of Cape Town-I'll be posting those within the next few days.

Peace & Love

I'd like to introduce you to: Khazimla

If I had the chance to adopt only one little boy from the whole world- it would be him! I've completely fallen in love with little Khazimla. I have to admit that i have given him so much more attention than the others but I can't help myself. :) I know in the end he means more to me than I do to him but I'll never forget about him...

Little Flowers School:

These are the awesome children I got to spend every working day with. The first two weeks were quite a roller coaster because I was new and obviously don't speak Xhosa. I was supposed to be stationed in one class for the whole time but here and there I have been moved around so I've had the chance to meet most of the kids. Btw, my cartooning skills have totally come in handy- they love my doodles of dogs, cats, and birds! (you can see my work in the second photo)
During play time it is when I spend my time with all of the kids. The kids are hilarious even though they always have their days. It's been quite an experience getting to work at Little Flowers. I've learned to so much and as much as I came here to give to them, they've given me so much more. Khayelitsha + Little Flowers will forever have a place in my heart...
