Safari

Today we took a two hour drive to the Aquila Game Reserve for a Safari!- The package included a driver, breakfast, lunch, and a welcome drink apart from the safari. We received a pretty good deal on the price mostly because the business had made a mistake and we demanded a decrease in the price.  The drive began at 5:50 in the morning and we got there by 8:20. Had a huge delicious breakfast and then headed out. It was extremely cold and windy and I didn't know how I was going to be able to survive the Safari so another volunteer and I purchased a blanket with a hoody attached to it (yes, i know, we looked funny but it kept me warm!) It was 250 Rand-around 35 dollars and everyone else thought they were overpriced but I didn't mind since I didn't really prefer to freeze to death. The others asked for blankets and they only had a few to go around.  Of all the animals we saw the cheetah and leopard were the only ones fenced in. I wasn't sure why but my guess was they didn't want them fighting with the lions or eating other animals (or eating us?). It was a long and cold day but I definitely enjoyed the safari and the food. On Tuesday I start work again with the kiddies. :)
